Here is a card I made inspired by Jennifer McGuire and the Stamp Happy: Hero Arts class at Online Card Classes. What a great class! Details coming soon!
The January 2019 My Monthly Hero kit from Hero Arts may be my favorite kit yet! I love every component included in this kit. Thankfully my kit arrived in time to create an anniversary card for my parents. :) When you open the card there's still a beautiful scene showing inside. All supplies were personally purchased, and all opinions expressed are my own. Supplies:
I started with a top folding note card made from watercolor paper. I stamped the storefront scene with Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink using my Tim Holtz travel stamp platform. Then I die cut the window, creating an opening to the inside of the card. Again, I used my stamp platform to align the flowers on the inside of the card, ensuring that they show through the window opening when the card is closed. I stamped and die cut all the extra images, then I used distress inks to watercolor them. For the watering can, bicycle, and the awning posts I used distress oxide Pumice Stone. I love how colorful and vibrant the flowers turned out! Have a wonderful day!
The Hero Arts January 2019 My Monthly Hero kit has so many components! I love little signs, so this easel die from the kit is going to get a lot of use. :) I wanted to create a chalkboard look, so I combined the new I Choose You stamp set from Echo Park with my distress oxide inks. All supplies were personally purchased, and all opinions expressed are my own. Supplies:
First, I die cut the easel twice from kraft cardstock, and the inner board cut once from black cardstock. Using my Scor-Buddy, I made a crease about 1/2" from the top and adhered the two easels together using Be Creative tape and a bit of glue. Next, I used Versamark ink to stamp the floral image from the I Choose You stamp set by Echo Park -- once at the top, and again at the bottom. I also stamped the sentiment using some of the words and phrases from the kit. Everything was heat embossed with a super fine white embossing powder. The floral image was painted with distress oxide ink colors that matched the You & Me line from Echo Park. First, I smooshed my distress oxide inks directly onto my craft mat Next, I dipped my paintbrush in water, picked up some of the distress oxide ink, and spread color over the flowers. My paintbrush is #000, which is a perfect sized brush for adding small amounts of color to the tiny areas. Once complete, I set that piece aside to dry. In the meantime, I smooshed some Worn Lipstick distress oxide ink onto a scrap of black cardstock, then die cut two hearts. I love the chalky look the distress oxide ink provides on black paper! Finally, I used Be Creative tape to glue the hearts in place and to glue the black cardstock piece to the easel base. Such a cute little sign! Thanks for stopping by!
